A Sonnet of a Lie
Today, I come to you with great sorrow,
I have left my homework at a friend's house.
Or maybe I left it in the boathouse
That's on top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
But then again it could be in Cairo.
It could be under my cherry red blouse
Or maybe eaten by a tiny mouse
Promise I'll give it to you tomorrow.
Please do not deduct points, or I will cry
I would like it if you gave me more time
It wasn't taken by a Russian Spy
Nor did I commit a serious crime
I wasn't partying with Alpha Psi
Oh wait? What's this? It was here the whole time

America's Dream...
Their hair slowly graying each
day of their lives; young
women staying home
with the kids, as the men
work to support their families.
For a brief moment, these
men, coming home with the
day's pay, feel like Jesus.
*~*
The American dream is far
from reality. People struggling
to make ends meet; forclosures
and hunger are part of the
dream. Just wishful thinking…

Letter to my 12 year old self...
Dear 12 year old self,
First of all, yuor feet are perfect! Don't waste you time getting a surgery that does more harm than good.High school is SOOOO important!! Don't skip Mr. Munsey's class in 9th grade for pep rally. You'll soon to learn he's an ex CIA agent who loves magic tricks amd little kids. He'll find out before you even have fun. Strive for A's and A+'s so you'll be able to sleep at night knowing you'll go to a good college. Mr. Hines is the KEY TO SUCCESS!!!!!! Mr. Francois, not so much. Try to transfer ASAP! You'll succeed better when you don't have to decipher a DEEP Haitian accent. If a guy named Suki tries to talk to you... NO! DON'T ALLOW IT!!!! And lastly, as much as mom will annoy you, don't try anything!Yours truly,
-17 year old self
